Citgo run over by Hess, 2-1.

Week 9

Jon Morin's first period goal stood up for nearly the rest of the game. Nearly.

Jack Gavin scored with 4:15 left in the game, and Rick Murphy with 3:15 to play, as Hess rallied late to steal one from the red guys.

"I had a penalty and a goal today, it's almost like the Gordie Howe hat trick," said Murph. "If Cornican could have buried one of my passes, it would have been complete."

O'Connor played very well in the Citgo net, but two goals at the end to take a loss really soured old flash pads.

"It wasn't so much the two goals as much as who scored them," said O'Connor.

Cooz had a tremendous game for the teal team on this morning, and was the biggest reason they were still in the game in the third period.

"We should have been up 4-0, minimum," said George Anderson. "But Cooz was practically unbeatable in the Hess net, including an amazing stuff on a Jon Morin-Ken Dyer 2-on-1. He played as well as Jim Wilkinson dives."

"What would you do on a 2 on 1 with Ken Dyer?" asked Morin.

With the win Hess moves to within two points of first place Citgo.

"Just wait until I trade us Onello for the rights to Peterson," said Rick Armand by cell phone. "We'll be unstoppable."
