Lowes blows late lead, 7-6 Toys. |

With Rick Armand laying out Tirpp in front of the net in the north rink, the other Armand was causing his own havoc in the south rink. Lowes had the game in the bag up 6-5 with 2:00 to
play. Brian Armand then told his teammates, A minute later, Lowes found themselves trailing by a goal, and they went on to lose 7-6. It seems like eons since Lowes won a game, but surprisingly they are 3-4 and in 2nd place. "Nobody is going to catch that gold team," said Dan McCarthy. "So I guess 2nd place isn't so bad."
Lowes rallied, and then the lead would change hands more times than Jon Morin went in and out of the box. When the dust settled, Lowes were up 6-5 as mentioned. Then Brian started high fiving his teammates and talking about who would be on the Hot List. Before he could get past his own name, Tony Maffeo and John O'Connor had tallied goals for the other team. With just 40 seconds left, Lowes were at an all new low. The Toys hung on for the win not surprisingly. "Is this how the Rays felt last night at Fenway?" asked Mike Saia.
