Shakes keep Splits winless, 7-3. |
| Week 4
Is the Emperor now a whiner ? George Anderson may be leading the league in scoring, but he's also leading the league in whining according to some of his opposition. "I'd rather have 10 George Howards than one George Anderson," said one player. "He's got no toughness or grit like Howard does. I'm just glad I live next to Armand and not him." Paul Maffa got stuck in net for the Banana Splits, and though there were no offsides or in the crease calls, Maffa insists that is totally coincidental. The Shamrock Shakes did not take it easy on Maffa, guys like Steve Iannetti and Chris Caruso had career games en route to a 7-3 cakewalk. "You feel bad scoring top shelf when someone like Paul has to jump in net," said Mike Cormican about his two goals. "It's like walking around Mike Saia. It's too easy. There's no satisfaction in it." This was definitely one of the more rougher games we've seen in a while, with the Shakes picking up three minor penalties in the 2nd period. "I am the furthest thing from a dirty player," exclaimed Don Fortini who picked up the lone gold team penalty. "I mean, I'm not the guy they call the 'Leg Breaker'." "I think I know what our team's problem is," said Saia of his winless 0-4 last place Banana squad. "Tony is too nice of a guy. We really need an asshole like Armand running this team." (This Saia guy is worth his weight in gold for us writers.)
