This was as close to a 60 minute powerplay as you'll ever see. The poor Fudgesicles got packed but good on Friday morning, with only 8 skaters and a sub goalie, they barely could get the puck out their own zone for more than a few seconds at a time. And no we are not exaggerating. The first couple of shifts went pretty uneventful, as most do on Fridays.
"The guys were just laying the puck at his feet like they were gifts," said Rick Armand. "Anyone but Saia could have scored into those open nets." Cormican and Hanson made it 4-0 before Anderson completed the first period hat trick to make it a whopping 5-0 with still 6:33 to play in the opening stanza. The only thing that didn't got the Shakes way was when Hanson laid out poor Tripp Talbot with a vicious elbow, picking up a penalty. "Up 5-0 and Trevor was going after anyone with left and right matching skates," said John Teal. "He gives us plus size guys a bad name." Teal would be the one to break Rollie's shutout attempt, as he scored a few minutes into the 2nd period on one of the Fudgesicles 8 shots on net. In the third John Ragucci got the 2nd navy goal on the 8th and final shot on Rollie. The rest of the scoring belonged to The Emperor, Hanson, and to a lesser degree Chris Caruso. "It's 9-2 and Armand and Hanson are playing like it's overtime in game 7," said Tripp. "I haven't seen Kotex players like this in a long time." "The puck was in the navy zone for such long stretches, that there's a sink hole at the blue line where I was standing," said one ref.

But things would change in a hurry when the
Shamrock Shakes set up George "The Emperor" Anderson for two goals in less
than a minute.
