Shakes stir up things in 5-2 win.

Week 10

The Shakes managed a split of the home and home series by beating the Snow Cones 5-2 in a thrilling game in the north rink.

"It's always a great game when the gold team isn't playing," said Steve Hardy.

A pair of 7-2 teams met, with both teams vying for first place for a date with the lowly Gold Team in the playoffs.

"It's pretty clear that whomever takes first gets a virtual bye into the Finals," said Rick Wilson.

Mike Cormican echoed those sentiments. "It's pretty obvious all players out here know what's at stake. Except for Wilkinson who is more concerned with his own points."

The Good Neighbor, the consummate team player, would only say he'd trade in all his goals for the cup this season.

"No I didn't, who said that?" replied Wilkinson. "Someone here is trying to be funny."

The Shakes took a 3-0 lead in the first and never looked back. The Snow Cones could only manage a couple of meaningless goals by their defensemen, Morin and Hardy in the 5-2 loss.

Everyone but Trevor thought that Rollie played well in net.
